気になると書いていたFUJIFILM XQ1ですが、結局発売日11/23に購入しちゃいました。
価格的には同じ富士フィルムのX20が5万円ちょっとと拮抗しておりますが、もともとコンデジにこだわりがあると書いてきただけに (X20もコンデジの仲間になっていますが、サイズがやっぱちょっと大きいので・・・) X20は除外しました。魅力的ですが…。X20はデジカメをぶら下げるポーチに入らないので、持ち運びが不便になるとというのがありました。やっぱ気軽に持ち歩いて撮らないと意味なくなっちゃうので。

I had written that I was interested in FUJIFILM XQ1, but I ended up purchasing it on November 23, the day it went on sale.

The X20 of the same Fujifilm is competing with it in terms of price at a little over 50,000 yen, but since I have always written that I am particular about digital condensers (X20 is also a member of the digital condenser category, but its size is still a little big…), I decided not to buy the X20. X20 is attractive, but… X20 doesn’t fit in the pouch where I hang my digital camera, so I thought it would be inconvenient to carry it around. It would be meaningless unless I could easily carry it around and take pictures with it.

で、周りを見渡すと、何度か書いているCanon PowerShot S120やSONY CyberShot RX100が同価格帯でコンパクトなサイズとして構えています。
その中であえてXQ1を選んだのは・・・

PowerShot S95は既に持っていることもあり同じ性格のS120を買うのもあれだなぁと。操作性はすごいよくなったことはこないだ店頭でだけど触って実感したけど、絵的な方向性はやっぱ同じメーカーだし、同じシリーズだから進化はしていると思うけど、だったらS95に不満は無いからいいかなと。

CyberShot RX100は、やっぱNEX-5Nがあるから多分絵的なチューニング似ているんじゃないかなとか、なんだかんだRX100MK2という後継機も出ているしということもあり、今一歩なところでした。動画性能も考慮して当初は欲しいと感じていましたが、XQ1も1080/60P撮れるので (H.264だけど・・・)。ただ動画はiPhone 5Sも結構イケルことがわかったので、「動画」という観点で探す意味合いは薄れていました。

そういう点ではXQ1は、自分が持っているカメラとは少し毛色の違う感じがして惹かれるものがありました。フィルムシミュレーション機能に興味が惹かれました。上位グレードのXシリーズもそうだし、前モデルに相当するXF1にもついていますが、初めて富士フィルムのカメラを使うという意味では興味津々です。あえて色のついた写真を撮ってみたい、見てみたいという風に思いました。センサーサイズが2/3とS95よりは少し大きいサイズですが、RX100よりは小さいのでセンサーサイズよりもX20と同じ定評あるX-Trans CMOS IIの性能がどういうものか？というのが気になりました。

I have already had the PowerShot S95, so I didin’t thought to interest to buy the S120, which has the same characteristics as the PowerShot S95. I have felt that the operability has improved a lot when I touched it in the store the other day, but the picture direction has evolved since it is the same manufacturer and in the same series.

I was not satisfied with the CyberShot RX100, because I had the NEX-5N, which is probably similar in picture tuning. And there has also a successor, the RX100MK2. I was initially interested the video performance, but since the XQ1 can also shoot 1080/60P (H.264, but…), I was not sure if I would like it. However, I found that iPhone 5S is also quite good for video, so the significance of searching for a camera in terms of “video” has diminished.

In this respect, I was attracted to the XQ1 because it seemed a little different from the cameras I own. I was intrigued by the film simulation function. The same is true of the higher grade X series, and the XF1, which corresponds to the previous model, also has it, but I was curious in the sense that I was using a Fujifilm camera for the first time. I felt as if I dared to take and see pictures with color. The sensor size is 2/3, a little larger than the S95, but smaller than the RX100, so I was more interested in the performance of the X-Trans CMOS II, which has the same reputation as the X20, than the sensor size. I was curious to see how the X-Trans CMOS II, which has the same reputation as the X20, would perform.

新しいものを買った時は多くの人がやられているお馴染みの開封の議は後ほどに、先に少し作例(と言える程じゃありませんが)を・・・。

iPhotoがXQ1のRAWに未対応なので、JPEG (FINE)の画像です。Velviaいいですね。僕好みの青がグッと来る色です。うん、こういうのを期待していました。
解像感も良く、程よいシャープさがあります。

夜の店頭もご覧の写り。ISOはAUTOですが、上限を400までにしています。

あまりモノクロへの興味は無かったのですが、せっかくなのでと思って撮ってみました。モノクロ+Rフィルターモードで。こういう写りをしてくれるなら、モノクロも楽しそうと思いました。

I wasn’t really interested in monochrome, but I thought I’d take a shot for the sake of it. Monochrome + R filter mode. I thought monochrome would be fun, if it could produce this kind of image.

電子水準も便利ですね。手持ちの機器では始めての電子水準搭載で水平出しが楽ですね。

逆光時の写りも納得です。

まだ使い始めて少しなので、これから印象は変わってくると思いますが、今気になる(ちょっと不満な)点を。
・iPhotoがRAW対応していない。
ひとまず、AppleのiPhotoフィードバックページからRAWの追加をお願いしました。果たしてどうなることやら・・・。
・コントロールリングがステップズームじゃない
やっぱりかという感じでした…。使いたい画角35mm(35mm換算時)に合わせるのに慣れが必要そうです。慣れたら、直ぐに合わせれるのかわかりませんが。いっそ25mmを楽しむか？
・起動時の画角が設定出来ない。
コントロールリングでの操作で時間がかかるなら、起動時に35mmが出来ればいいのですが、残念ながら起動した時は常に広角端の25mmとなります。
・充電がUSB充電方式
基本充電系は使い切りたい派なので、写真を取り込む時マシン本体から充電がその時だけ動いてしまう…。SDカードリーダーで読めば対応出来るけど、買わないといけないのか…。
・電池残量が数値で見えない
これはPowerShot S95もそうでしたが、やっぱ電池残量出ないのは辛いですね。NEX-5Nは(というかSONY製品は)、残量表示が便利なんだよな…。残りの撮影時間も読めるので。
・35mm時のレンズが暗い
これは、前回書いた時にわかっていた事ですが、他の同じレンジのカメラに比べて35mmの時にF値がF3.6になるという暗さ。もう少し余裕は持たせられなかったのだろうか。
・プレビューが縦に対応しない
縦横の自動判別はつくのですが、縦に撮った写真を、カメラを縦にしてプレビュー出来ません (どっか設定があるのか？探したけど…)。撮られた写真の縦横は判別してます。

というような辺りです。もう少し使い続けると、更に不満がててくるのか、はたまた違う使い方を見つけて考えが変わるのでしょうか。

I have only been using it for a little while, so my impression will probably change in the future, but here are some points that are currently bothering me (or that I am a little dissatisfied with).

• iPhoto does not support XQ1’s RAW.
  I asked Apple to add RAW support from their iPhoto feedback page. I wonder how it will turn out…
• The control ring is not a step zoom.
  I knew it…. I need to get used to adjusting the angle of view to 35mm (35mm equivalent). I don’t know if I can adjust it right away once I get used to it. I don’t know if I will be able to adjust the angle of view immediately once I get used to it.
• I can’t set the angle of view at startup.
  If it takes time to operate the camera with the control ring, it would be nice if 35mm could be set at startup, but unfortunately, the camera is always set to 25mm at the wide-angle end when it is started up.
• USB charging system
  I am a person who wants to use up all of the battery power, so when I import photos, the battery is charged from the machine itself, and only then does it work… I can deal with this by using an SD card reader, but I have to buy one…
• Battery level is not visible in numerical value.
  This is the same with PowerShot S95, but it is hard to see the battery level… NEX-5N (or any SONY product) has a convenient remaining battery level display… It is also possible to read the remaining shooting time.
• The lens at 35mm is dark.
  This is something we knew when we wrote about it last time, but it is darker than other cameras in the same range, with an F value of f/3.6 at 35mm. Couldn’t they have given it a little more leeway?
• The preview does not support portrait.
  The camera automatically detects portrait and landscape, but I can’t preview a photo taken in portrait mode with the camera in portrait mode (is there a setting for this? I tried looking for it…). The camera does detect the height and width of the photo taken.

I wonder if I will have more complaints as I use it more, or if I will find a different way to use it and change my mind.

Finally, I would like to give you a brief report on the opening.

当たり前ですがPowerShot S95とは全然違う色作りです。これから使い続けて行く中でどういう色を見せてくれて、どういう風に残って行くか、楽しそうなカメラを買ったと思いました。
