Appleが単三電池の充電器とニッケル・水素充電池を発売してたのを覚えているでしょうか。初代Magic Mouse / Magic Keyboardが単三電池による動作をしていたことで2010年7月発売されました(現在は販売終了)。
Remember when Apple introduced the AA battery charger and nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries? The first generation Magic Mouse / Magic Keyboard operated on AA batteries and was released in July 2010 (now discontinued).
Apple Battery Chargerは手頃な価格でApple製品が買える数少ない製品でした(ただしリンゴマークが記されていない製品)。いまだに初代Magic Mouseを使っているのですが（素晴らしいことに壊れないのです）、その時にいっしょに買ったApple Battery Charger付属のニッケル・水素充電池はもう全然充電が持たなくなっていました。
Magic Mouseの凄いところは電池の減りが凄い遅いことです。ただ長く使えるとはいえ、電池切れの度に使い捨ての電池を買うのは、時代的にエコではありません（お財布的にも優しくありません）。
Appleは Battery Chargerに付属するニッケル・水素充電池はOEMしてもらっていましたが、そのOEM元がeneloopでした。そこで、今も売っているeneloopを購入して2022年の今でも使えるのか試してみました。
The Apple Battery Charger was one of the few Apple products available at an affordable price (but without the apple logo). I still use the original Magic Mouse (which, amazin that never breaks), but the nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries that came with the Apple Battery Charger I bought at the time no longer hold a charge at all.
The great thing about Magic Mouse is that the batteries run very slowly. However, even though it can be used for a long time, buying disposable batteries every time it runs out is not eco-friendly (and not wallet-friendly either) in this day and age.
Apple had the nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries that came with the Battery Charger OEMed, and the OEM source was eneloop. So I bought an eneloop that is still sold today and tried to see if it still works in 2022.
結果的には無事充電出来ました。充電器の要件に見合わない電池を指されるとLEDが点滅しますが、無事オレンジ色で点灯したので充電開始となりました。
As a result, I was able to charge it successfully. The LED would flash if a battery that did not meet the charger’s requirements was pointed at, but it lit up safely in orange, so the charging started.
