カフェに求める姿は人それぞれ、またブランドによっても色々なイメージがあると思いますが、秋葉原と神田の間にある旧万世橋駅を改修したmAAch ecute 万世橋にある BLUE BOTTLE COFFE 神田万世橋店 に行って来ました。

BLUE BOTTLE COFFEEについては、今更語る必要も無いと思いますが、カリフォルニア・オークランド発のサードウェーブコーヒーの代表ですね。

Everyone has their own image of what they look for in a café, and different brands have different images, but I visited BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE Kandamanseibashi at mAAch ecute Mansebashi, a renovated version of the old Mansebashi station between Akihabara and Kanda.

I don’t think I need to talk about BLUE BOTTLE COFFEE now, but it represents third wave coffee from Oakland, California.

秋葉原と神田の間にあり旧万世橋駅をリノベーションしていることもあり古い構造を残したままなので、秋葉原感もなく、かと言って神田の駅前に感じる雑居感もない場所で、旧万世橋駅を活かして作られてる店舗は、店内に席はありませんが、外の通路には椅子と丸テーブルが用意されており、買ったコーヒーやお菓子を食べれるスペースがありました。赤いレンガ作りの旧万世橋、落ち着きある雰囲気を作り出してくれていて、神田川を越えた向こうが秋葉原である事を忘れさせ、綺麗にリノベーションさせて店舗前には広い通路もあり日本である事を忘れさせるような雰囲気すらあります。

The store is located between Akihabara and Kanda, and the old structure of the old Mansebashi station has been renovated, so it does not feel like Akihabara, nor does it have the crowded atmosphere of Kanda’s station area. There is no seating inside the store, but there are chairs and round tables outside in the aisle where you can eat your coffee and snacks. The red brick building of the old Banze Bridge creates a calm atmosphere that makes you forget that you are in Akihabara across the Kanda River, and the beautifully renovated wide aisle in front of the store even makes you forget that you are in Japan.

今の季節(12月)では、外でコーヒー飲むのも寒いですが、ブランケットも用意されており、逆に外の季節を感じながらコーヒーが飲めます。ラップトップを広げて作業するのには適さないですが、そういう場所というよりは少しゆっくりコーヒーを飲みながら気持ちをゆっくりさせてくれる様な場所です。

In this season (December), it is cold to drink coffee outside, but blankets are provided, so you can drink coffee while feeling the outside season. It is not a good place to spread out a laptop and work, but it is more like a place where you can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.

店内はスペースが限られているので広いと言えませんが、それでもメニューは妥協されているようには感じず、店舗も物が押し込められているような感じもせず、狭いのに広いと感じるレイアウトになっており、しっかりBLUE BOTTLEのブランドイメージを崩すことなく成立しています。

The interior of the store is not spacious due to the limited space, but even so, the menu does not feel compromised, the store does not feel crammed, and the layout feels spacious in spite of its narrowness, firmly establishing the BLUE BOTTLE brand image without destroying it. The layout is small but feels spacious, and the brand image of BLUE BOTTLE is maintained.
