I managed to make time during my trip to Kyoto to visit Apple Kyoto. I visit Apple Stores everywhere I go on my trips to the U.S., and this time was no different.
普通に使っているだけなのに壊れる時は突然壊れる。キーボードは、ユーザが多く接触する部分なので、それなりに負荷がかかる場所の部品だろう。 ちょっと前に僕が使っているMacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)のcommandキーが外れる様になってしまった。 キーキャップのどこかが折れてるようには見えない、しかしキーの下の部分を押すとパカッと上にキーキャップが上がり外れるようになってしまった。 US配列のキーボードを使っていて、英語/日本語切り替えは古いキーアサインであるcommand + spaceを割り当てているため、commandキーは良く使っている場所。それだけに、キーが外れてしまう状態ではレスポンスが悪くどうにかするしかない。
When it breaks, the breaks suddenly, even though it is just used normally. The keyboard is a part that users touch a lot, so it must be a part that is subject to a certain amount of load. A while ago, My MacBook Pro(15-inch, 2016)’s the command key came off. It doesn’t look like any part of the keycaps is broken, but when I press the bottom part of the key, the keycaps pops up and comes off. I use a US keyboard, and I assign the old key assignment “command + space” to switch between English and Japanese, so the command key is where I use it a lot. Therefore, I have no choice but to do something about the poor response when the key is out of alignment.
It has been difficult to get official information since it was said that Apple Ginza would be relocating, but the 8-chome location has been confirmed, and it looks like the move is finally underway.
Apple Ginza was the first Apple Store outside the U.S. and the first global store. At the time, I wondered why Ginza? But now I think Ginza was the only choice. At the time, I think it was one of the stores that Jobs was particular about. The move was due to the reconstruction of the Saegusa Building, which houses Apple Ginza. I have a lot of memories of this place, so I feel sentimental about it. I can’t tell you how many times I stood in line here all night on the day the iPhone went on sale. How many times have I been helped by the Genius Bar? How many times have I watched sessions at Theater? Thinking back on it makes me want to cry.

サンフランシスコに行った時も、Apple Storeによって来ました。Apple Union Squareです。特に、このApple Union Squareは、昨年2016年5月21日にオープンし、Apple Store 店舗の中でも、今後のモデルケースとなるべき要素が詰まった旗艦店の一つと言われています。
2016年8月16日にオープンしたApple World Trade Center。9.11のワールドトレードセンターで有名すぎるローワー・マンハッタンに出来たワールド・トレード・センター駅ビル内に出来たストアです。ワールド・トレード・センター駅そのものが非常に独特な作りをしており、ワールド・トレード・センター駅自体は背の高い建物ではないですが白いフレームがガラスを挟みながら左右に向かって羽を広げているようなデザインで、中に入って天井を見上げるとそのフーレムをささえる支柱もなく、またライトも少ないのに、中が明るく非常に面白い作りをした建物となっています。
そんな中に出来たApple World Trade Centerですが、2フロアにまたぐ上下に別れた広い作りになっています。店内に支柱もなく、店外の独特な光によって独特な雰囲気でした。
