Kyoto Tofukuji

京都と言えば、神社仏閣はその象徴的な場所の一つです。今回の旅行では東福寺に行きました。
場所がそう思わせるのか、歴史がそう感じさせるのかわかりませんが、お寺の中の時間感覚は独特です。
時間は動いていますが、進み方が違う様に感じます。そう感じるのは、それだけ静かであり、普段の場所がいかに騒がしいかを実感します。
京都は大きく広い神社仏閣があるので、視界的にも外が入って来ないことで、よりその場所が空間として独立したものに感じ、独特な空気を生み出しているのだと思います。

When it comes to Kyoto, shrines and temples are one of its most iconic places. On this trip, I went to Tofukuji Temple.
I don’t know if it is the location or the history that makes you feel this way, but the sense of time inside the temple is unique.
Time is moving, but in a different way. The reason I feel this way is because it is so quiet, and I realize how noisy the usual places are.
Kyoto has large, spacious shrines and temples, and the lack of visibility from the outside makes the place feel more independent as a space, which I think creates a unique atmosphere.

富士フイルムが次の世代のレンジファインダースタイルのカメラを出すことを願います

X-PRO3がディスコンになったらしい。そして、X100Vは部材供給の問題で注文停止中。X-E4は、やはりディスコンになっている。
富士フイルムのレンジファインダースタイルのカメラが苦境に立たされている。富士フイルム的には戦略あっての事だと願いたいが、ユーザ側から見ると、ラインナップにいるのに買えない、ラインナップにないという事は、終わりを意味する様に見えてしまう。

I heard that X-PRO3 has been discontinued. And the X100V is on order suspension due to component supply problems.The X-E4 is also discontinued.
Fujifilm’s rangefinder style cameras looks like in a difficult situation. I hope that Fujifilm has a strategy, but from the user’s point of view, not being able to buy a camera even though it is in the lineup or not being in the lineup seems to be end.

Asakusa New Year Photography – 2023

三ヶ日ではなく、1/8に浅草浅草寺に新年のお参りに行って来ました。
久々の浅草寺へのお参りです。人が多く仲見世通りも賑わっていて、浅草全体に活気を感じました。
屋台も出るようになっていて、久々たこ焼きや、鮎の塩焼き等々を買って食べ歩きもしてきました。

I went to Asakusa Sensoji Temple not on 1/1 to 1/3 but on January 8 to pay my New Year’s visit.
It has been a long time since I visited Sensoji Temple in new year. There were many people and the Nakamise-dori was crowded, and I felt the whole Asakusa area was lively.
I bought takoyaki (octopus dumplings), grilled sweetfish, etc., and enjoyed walking them with eating.

Tokyo Kuramae – Sumida river

先日、自宅から秋葉原まで自転車で買い物に行ってきました。
その時、行きも帰りも蔵前界隈をややグルグルしながら移動したのですが、今流行りの場所の一つだけあって新しいおしゃれなお店が色々出てきますね。
こんなところにこんな店が？と思うような所がいっぱいあり、今度時間をかけてゆっくり色々回りたいと思いました。

The other day, I went shopping by bicycle from my home to Akihabara.
On the way there and on the way back, I went around the Kuramae neighborhood, which is one of the trendy places nowadays, and I saw many new fashionable stores.
I was surprised to see so many stores in such a place. I would like to take my time and visit more places next time.

Tokyo 2018 – KLASSE W w/ PORTRA 400

2018年の東京です。1月から5月までの写真ですね。
フィルムは光と影のバランスが絶妙ですね。上の写真は個人的にも今回お気に入りの一枚です。
オレンジの光に目がいきますが、ホーム奥はビルが光を塞いでいるのか、青みがかっており、場所場所で色が豊富なことを感じさせてくれます。
KODAKはオレンジに寄る傾向があり、今回の写真も全体的に何方かと言えばオレンジよりですが、フィルムの柔らからさがあるので口説くなくて良い感じです。

This is Tokyo in 2018…I took these photos from January to May.
Film is a perfect balance of light and shadow. The photo above is one of my personal favorites this time.
The orange light draws the eye, but at the back of the platform, there is a bluish tint, perhaps due to buildings blocking the light, giving the viewer a sense of the richness of color from place to place.
KODAK tends to lean toward orange, and this photo is generally more orange than most, but the softness of the film gives it a nice feel without being seductive.

Tokyo Sumida-ku Oshiage 2022

FUJIFILM X-E4が販売終了していたらしい。これは少々予想外。売れてない？部材の問題？
X-Eシリーズは、すごいざっくり言うとX-ProとX100を足して2で割って、OVFを引いた感じのイメージ。
レンズ交換出来るX100でOVFが無いという言い方の方が正解でしょうか。

手軽にFUJIFILMの高いクオリティを楽しめるレンズ交換式カメラがX-Eシリーズの印象。X-Eが無くなると、レンジファインダータイプのカメラはX-Proしか無くなります。
純粋に写真を楽しむカメラというのは今の時代苦しいのでしょうか？SONYなんかも見ていると、デジカメの調子はいいと言っても、動画が撮れる事が重要になっているようで、富士フイルムもそういう事になるとこないだ出たX-H2Sとなります（X-H2Sは随分宣伝に気合が入っていますね）。

I heard that the FUJIFILM X-E4 had been discontinued. This is somewhat unexpected. Not selling well? Component problems?
The X-E series is, to put it very roughly, like X-Pro and X100 added together and divided by 2, minus the OVF.
Would it be more correct to say that the X100 has interchangeable lenses and no OVF?

I have the impression that the X-E series is an interchangeable lens camera that allows you to enjoy the high quality of FUJIFILM at a reasonable price.
Looking at SONY, even though their digital cameras are doing well, it seems that the ability to shoot video is becoming more and more important. (The X-H2S has been very well advertised).
